Bright activities remarkable scientist, educator and man - Andrei G. Bannikov encourages us to remember and honor him. In this regard, it was planned events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of his birth. They passed April 24, 2015 - the birthday of Andrew G.. The conference expressed a desire to participate more than 90 people (internally and externally) from a variety of scientific, educational and environmental institutions from 10 countries (Belarus, Bulgaria, Latvia, Mongolia, Poland, Russia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Estonia). The conference is organized with the direct participation of the Eurasian Regional Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EARAZA) and the Moscow Zoological Park. To top it was released on the conference program, a commemorative calendar, prepared gift bags with the scientific literature published EARAZA and Moscow Zoo has recently designed for full-time participants. In total 79 people attended the conference.

In 1935, Andrew G. became a student at Moscow University, where he absorbed the ideas of prominent Russian scientists - SI Ognev, BS Matveeva, II Schmalhausen and others. Even as a student Bannikov participated in expeditions to the Southern Urals, the European North, in Dagestan and Azerbaijan. Further events of his life are developing even more rapidly - the Great Patriotic War, and in June 1941 AG Bannikov volunteered for the Red Army. However, in 1942, he was discharged as a valuable scientist and returned to Moscow. In July of the same year he successfully defended his thesis, and in August was sent to the Mongolian People's Republic for the organization of the first Mongolian University. Started a lot of work on the creation of curricula, textbooks, drugs and collections, the formation of a library - with all this Bannikov fully cope.

Educational activity AG Bannikova in Moscow began in 1947 - in the City Pedagogical Institute. IN AND. Potemkin, and after it is closed - at the Department of Zoology of the Moscow Veterinary Academy. Andrew G. was in charge of this department for 25 years - until his death in October 1985.

Delivered with memories of his teacher and colleague, Professor of the Moscow State Pedagogical University Vladimir Galushin, spoke about the international activities of Andrew G.. At 16 Bannikov is already involved in an expedition to the south of the Far East, where it was assembled using a large and important material on the fauna and biology of mammals and birds of the Ussuri region. Later, with the expeditionary trips he visited the Far North, Siberia, Central Asia and Kazakhstan, and between expeditions worked as a guide in the Moscow zoo, got acquainted with the collections of the Zoological Museum of Moscow State University.

Andrei G. Bannikov - known in scientific circles as a great prominent Soviet and Russian biologist generalist. First of all, it is a zoologist who has studied with the same success of mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles, is an environmental activist and environmental protection, nature conservation, as well as an expert on hunting and hunting economy. At his suggestion, in our country for the first time there was a national Red Book of rare and endangered animals and plants (1978). An important part of his - in a technique of teaching of biological disciplines in universities. As an educator, he trained a cohort of domestic and foreign experts, biologists, hunters, hunting leases and employees of reserves.

During his life Bannikov has published more than 400 publications, including 30 books and pamphlets, many of which were translated into foreign languages. He has trained more than 30 doctors and candidates of sciences. To date, the Department of Zoology, Ecology and Conservation of the Moscow Veterinary Academy named after Andrei G. Bannikov. It is true to the traditions of this outstanding scientist. The Department is not only the base but also produces in the Veterinary Faculty of Biology. AG Ideas Bannikova formed the basis of the lecture material on various aspects of zoology, ecology and conservation, as well as on game management and the theory of evolution. The memory of Andrew G. Bannikov will be among his students and future generations of scientists and teachers in our country and abroad.
